Farmers Organic: HIgh Cotton Compost consists of 100% Cotton Residuals, every part of the cotton plant, the lent, stalks, bowls, leaves, and seed meal. It has composted a minimum of 3 years to ensure it is chemical free and has a consistent texture. It is full of beneficial micro-organisms and it will not burn plants. It is also excellent for promoting and improving drainage in poor soils. Average N-P-K is approximately 1-1-1.

Why use High Cotton?

  1. A good substitute for peat.
  2. Higher nutrient content.
  3. No filler material.
  4. Good for lawns, trees, shrubs, and beds.
  5. Improves soil water and nutrient retention.
  6. Makes bad dirt good.

Beds and Vegetables:

Farmers Organic: High Cotton Compost will greatly improve the overall health of your soil. It will help break up heavy clay soils and improve water retention in poor soils.

To have the best soil, you need to regularly add compost. Add 1-2" every planting season for your garden. For beds, add 1" several times a year to ensure there is plenty of organic matter in your soil.

For existing lawns, spread Farmers Organic: High Cotton Compost 1/4" to 1/2" evenly across your lawn, water thoroughly. For new lawns, spread 1/2" of High Cotton Compost and till into the soil. Lay your sod and water thoroughly.

Trees and Shrubs:

When planting new trees and shrubs, dig your hole 2 or 3 times wider than the root ball of your plant and dig the hole approximately 6" deeper than the root ball. Mix your soil 3 parts soil and 1 part High Cotton Compost before you place the plant in its new home. Fill in the extra 6" with your new soil mix.

After this is done, place the plant in the hole and slowly fill until full. Use remaining soil to create a dam and fill water immediately to remove air pockets. Do not over water. Add water as needed to maintain soil moister.

To add extra nutrients, mix with Farmers Organic: Chicken Manure Compost or one of a number of Farmers Organic fertilizers.
